Let Me Explain

So, I’m doing something suggested by Thom (of The Occasional Musings of TMB…see link at right). In this exercise, you follow these guidelines:

  1. Delve into your blog archive.
  2. Find your 23rd post.
  3. Find the fifth sentence.
  4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
  5. Tag five people to do the same.

Here are the results:

“Three hours later, she whined again to let me know she needed to go to the bathroom.”

I suppose this isn’t something you’d except to hear from a gay man. But I also suspect my readers can tell that I’m talking about Dusty the Shih Tzu during her Devil Dog: Hound from Hell days. We had just adopted her days before and I was such the attentive parent I could barely sleep. We were crating her at night at the foot of the bed, and she had a bladder the size of grain of sand. Consequently, I was up all night. Eventually, I invested in ear plugs. But at the time of this blog posting, many of my evenings were spent entertaining that miniature beast on the living room floor while Matt slept like a baby.

But how the times have changed. Dusty at nearly 2 years old lives with my parents and sleeps throughout the entire evening in their bed (unless I’m visiting, in which case she stays with me).

Speaking of my parents, my Mom was released from the hospital on Saturday. They think she developed a subdural hematoma because of her fall. It may also be something beginning with an “m” that I can’t remember. Either way, they suspect the thing is minor and should go away. But they’re going to send her back for more CAT scans and MRI’s in the next weeks to make sure it’s not growing. PHEW!

And my sister-in-law was released from the hospital on Sunday. Maybe my curse has lifted?

OK – per the instructions, I have to nominate 5 people to do this blog test. I select, Karyn (Vexed in the City), Jason (Ex Post Facto), Matt (Matt’s Bit of Space), Mark (Manley One), and Will (Designer Blog).

I tried that a while back – I think it ended up being something about my annoying coworker or something like that – go figure!
