It’s All About Pain Suffering

Well, at least today’s posting seems to be.

For starters, I managed to develop a sore throat upon my return from Washington, DC. This seems to happen every time I fly. It’s not bad enough for me to call in sick to work, but it was bad enough for me to lose my appetite and lay on the sofa all night long.

On the plus side, the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to allow Oregon doctors to continue with doctor-assisted suicide for terminally ill/pain-suffering patients. YAY! On the down-side, newly appointed Chief Justice, John Roberts, dissented (siding with the predictable Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia…and the entire Bush administration, for that matter). BOO!

In local news, the trial is beginning for a dominatrix charged with dismembering a trick, putting his body into 8 garbage bags and then disposing of them behind a restaurant in Maine. News reporters are claiming he suffered a heart attack while in bondage. The dominatrix then called her boyfriend after waiting 5 minutes and they attempted to revive the man together. When those attempts failed, they placed him in the bathtub and left for the night. The next day, the boyfriend dismembered the body.

However, after a thorough investigation, the body parts were never recovered and there was not an ounce of DNA found in the condo (even the bathtub where the body was dismembered showed no signs of DNA, blood, or even cleaning agents used to clean up after a possible dismemberment). The defendant is claiming she was bullied into reporting the story this way by the police and that it never actually happened.

What I find odd is that the newspapers are reporting with such confidence that the man suffered a heart attack. Without a body for a coroner to study, how is everybody so sure that he even suffered a heart attack in the first place? I suspect there may be more to this story.

Who knows…maybe he was following Oregon’s lead and decided to go with dominatrix-assisted suicide in lieu of a doctor?

Not a bad way to go, all things considered. How about this – hooking up on the Internet & asking to be killed by a cannibal? But first . . .

Do you think the Dominatrix will get her day in front of Thomas, Scalia, Roberts, and, dare I say, Alito? I wonder if they’ll come up with something creative for her. . . .

Oh, what the print version of the CNN piece left out (but on on the clip) is that first they cut off his most delicate part and tried to both eat it raw, then he passed out from the blood loss. OMG, what creates perversity like that?!!

Or maybe she, or those German guys, will have some creative ideas for them. . .

Wow! That case has taken forever to get to court!!! I’ve always felt it should be dismissed. There just isn’t enough there. …so to speak.

    Sorry you’re not feeling well.

Hey, why is it that it takes so long for your blog to come up and for the comments box to populate? It can’t be my pc because this only happens on your site. Odd.

Maybe I should become a Dominatrix assistant. I chatted with a stripper at the bus stop yesterday. A new career direction!!!!

Karl–sorry you’re paying for the wekend with an illness, but it sounds like you had a really great time. So, where’s a picture of you in the hat?
