Repeats are Coming

In the next few weeks all of my favorite shows will have their season (or series) finale and I’ll be stuck with a summer of repeats. Well, except for Big Brother – I hope that one’s coming back.

But these repeats could seriously alter my social schedule with Randy. Since last September we’ve gotten together nearly every Thursday night and Monday night. On Monday, we’d watch Tivo’d Brothers and Sisters and Desparate Housewives. On Thursday, we’d watch Tivo’d How I Met Your Mother, New Adventurs of Old Christine, Scrubs, Ugly Betty, and My Name is Earl. Now that his Tivo will practically be on vacation for the summer (like school teachers), I fear we won’t know what to do with ourselves.

Well, speaking of repeats, I may have done the following meme years ago..but I’m doing it again a) out of laziness and b) because it could be interesting if my responses are different than the last time. Here you have “My Fives”:

FIVE jobs I’ve had in my life:

  1. Paper boy
  2. Dishwasher/busboy
  3. Dog walker (seriously)
  4. Picture framer
  5. Administrative Director

FIVE movies I would watch over and over:

  1. Best in Show (or any Christopher guest movies except Home for Purim)
  2. Steel Magnolias (I’m so gay)
  3. Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure
  4. Sordid Lives
  5. Annie Hall

FIVE places I have lived:

  1. Osterville (Cape Cod), MA (one address)
  2. Boston, MA (eleven addresses in Fenway, Back Bay, South End, West End, North End, downtown)
  3. Brookline, MA (3 addresses in Brookline Hills, Brookline Village and Coolidge Corner)
  4. San Francisco, CA (one address)
  5. Salem, MA (two addresses, both downtown)

Five TV shows I love to watch (damn, I need more than 5 – hell, I practically have 5 per network):

  1. My Name is Earl
  2. Ugly Betty
  3. Scrubs
  4. New Adventures of Old Christine
  5. How I Met Your Mother

Five places I have been on vacation:

  1. USA (ME, VT, RI, CT, NH, MA, NY, NJ, FL, CO, NM, AZ, UT, TX, DC, MN, IL, IN, OH, PA, VA, GA, SC, NC, CA, MD, DE, WI, VA)
  2. Mexico (Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerias)
  3. Europe (United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Netherlands…and soon Czech Republic)
  4. Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka)
  5. Canada (New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario)

FIVE websites I visit almost daily:

  1. my blog
  2. Boston Globe
  3. Yahoo
  4. Architectural Boston
  5. Harvard Law School

FIVE of my favorite foods:

  1. broccoli or cauliflower (just steamed…no seasonings)
  2. dark chocolate (as M&M’s, truffles, candy bars…any format will do)
  3. chicken (grilled, baked, stuffed)
  4. yogurt (vanilla)
  5. cookies (preferably chocolate chip or sugar…or those peanut butter ones with a Hershey’s Kiss on top, or…)

FIVE places I would rather be right now:

  1. Europe (my vacation is in two weeks…but I want to go NOW)
  2. Mexico (that trip was truly relaxing and beautiful, despite always doubting I’d enjoy a tropical vacation I’d go back in a heart beat)
  3. On the sofa with Randy snuggling and watching TV (or DVD)
  4. In the Massachusetts Lottery Commission office collecting my check for winning the biggest lottery in state history
  5. “on top of the world, looking, down on creation”

I love the obvious trajectory of the jobs. 😉

Our food choices exactly coincide. If by some chance you made the quantum leap from picture framer to Administrative Diector in a single bound, I would love to hear how that was managed!

I totally forgot about the picture framing gig!! Yikes.

Ugly Betty is one of my favorites too. I feel so connected to you. LOL.
