A Softer Approach

After riling a few feathers yesterday, I’m going to make things easy and non-confrontational today. Thanks to Karyn (Vexed in the City) here are my 3’s:

Three things that scare me

organized religion
pain (or the infliction of pain)
sunflowers

Three people who make me laugh

Amy Sedaris
Kathy Griffin
Wanda Sykes
(Hmmm -all females…interesting)

Three things I love

chocolate
fresh fruit
travel
(I didn’t list Randy since isn’t a “thing”)

Three things I hate

see the first question about what scares me
hypocrisy
mushrooms

Three things I don’t understand

passion (I simply have none)
why the chicken crossed the road
intelligent design

Three things on my desk

banana
a stuffed potato and a stuffed garlic (from two of Randy’s business trips)
an expired Paris subway ticket

Three things I am doing right now

blogging
procrastinating
thinking

Three things I want to do before I die

travel (anywhere and everywhere)
become comfortable in my own skin (I’m getting there gradually)
live without worry (regarding health and wealth)

Three things I can do

wiggle my ears and flare my nostrils (simultaneously or separately)
figure out maps and find my way around
talk fast

Three things I can’t do

be patient
easily understand the Scottish accent (though I love the way it sounds)
read people’s minds

Three things I think you should listen to

waves crashing
the album “Black Cherry” by Goldfrapp (good for ambient music, sex music, party music…a well rounded album)
the voice of reason

Three things you should never listen to

Mitt Romeny
George Bush
the pope
(it’s ironic that I couldn’t say I loved Randy since he isn’t a “thing”, yet I list 3 people here as things. Well, these three folks are not mere mortals…they’re mouthpieces for influential hate-spewing organizations)

Three shows I watched as a kid

Three’s Company (synidcation)
Dick Van Dyke (syndication)
NBC Saturday nights: Diff’rent Strokes, Facts of Life, Love Boat

Three people I tag.

Um, maybe not. I think I pissed off enough people yesterday.

Hey, I can wiggle my ears too! Can you do it one at a time?

The thought or anticipation of pain is far worse than actual pain. I think you’ll find that if you have to you can tolerate much more than you think. But let’s hope you don’t have to find that out. Sunflowers, I can’t help you with. You love Amy more than David Sedaris – just admit it Karl, you luv woman! 😉 But I’m concerned about your saying you don’t understand or have passion – that can’t be true! Life is hardly worth it without passion (for food, for people, for life in general, anything???). Scottish accents rock – any man who even affects one, well, let’s just say I’m easy.

True the fear of Sunflowers is a bit odd. But then again I figured that out awhile ago with Snarl! And thanks for not calling me a thang but saying you loved me.. publicly even. EEK
