Cebu Declaration for Biofuels

ø

While only a declaration to push for biofuels, it is a first step for a part of the world that is likely going to be a signficant player (utilizer) of energy in the future.  The Cebu Declaration set goals to promote biofuels, signed by key leaders from China, India, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and other SE Asian countries.  The need to stop our dependence on fossil fuels is critical, particularly in areas in China where the use of coal and oil continue to rise.  The hope is that these countries continue to see the importance with alternative energy sources and push to make this declaration into a regional treaty.
