See You on the Other Side Ceasar

posted in Pretty, Shiny Things |

I’ve discovered my Rubicon and it’s $200 Shoes.  After choosing an outfit specifically so I could wear my new shoes today, I found myself unable to leave my apartment in them this morning.  I hovered at the threshold of the apartment for several agonizing moments before finally returning to my room and donning a different pair of shoes.  As much as I love them (more then my new pants, but not as much as my new purse), I just can’t spend over $200 for a pair of painful heels that I’ll likely only wear twice.  I am not going to be that person (not to judge people who are those people, some of whom happen to be my friends).  Sigh.  I need to return them soon so this won’t be a daily struggle.  A part of me is crying over their impending loss, but a larger part of me is relieved to retain that portion of my soul for awhile longer.  I’m sure I’ll cross the river of no return eventually, but at least it wasn’t today.

So, on a whim, I acquired a hard-to-find black handbag, only to realize that I did the same thing two months ago, and promptly forgot about the old bag (used once).

Did you buy the Marc Jacobs shoes?

No, if I ever actually come across those in a store, I may have to buy them. I got a pair of Via Spiga sandals instead. I’d feel they were more practical if they were at least close-toed so I could feel comfortable wearing them to work all year rather then occasionally throughout the summer.

you’re funny. i like you. but not like, like you cause, ewww you’re a girl and you have cooties.

and there is nothing better than an overpriced pair of shoes that hurt so bad they almost feel good and of course, you have very little to wear with. because when you do wear them it’s its’ (is this even allowed in the english language…hmmm my lack of knowledge for the language i speak on a daily basis surprises even me. i don’t even know if i used the apostrohes correctly. yes, go ahead and laugh, i would too) own reward for being able to put an outfit together to wear w/ the shoes (that or you just washed the outfit that goes w/ the shoes… still a reward since now your laundry is done).

g (friend/co-worker of ka, who is friends w/ ml aka follow the frog who got me into this crazy world of blogging). thanks for sharing!

Hi G! Welcome to My life. =) Thanks for reading. And for posting. I LOVE getting comments (as for the other 99.9% of you guys out there – would it kill you to comment on something every once in awhile?!). The shoes are still here (no time to return them yet). I had to deliberately choose an outfit in the opposite color scheme so as to not be tempted to wear them today though!
