I love Facebook. I love letting my friends and family, whom I don’t get to see nearly as often as I’d like, know what’s going on in my daily life and finding out what’s going on in theirs. It’s those daily details that keep people close. It’s the reason I started this blog in the first place.

I also love getting a voyeuristic peek at what’s going on in the lives of people I’ve lost touch with in the past 10 years. However, I’m starting to feel that my friends and I live in a bubble. No one in my social circle has kids, yet it seems that everyone I’ve reconnected with, mostly old high school friends, has a baby. Which makes sense since we’re entering our 30’s, but still feels weird. Sigh. I guess our 30’s are really our adult years, whereas our 20’s were clearly just a practice run.

Yeah, I had the same realization. Seems most if not all my friends I’ve reconnected with have kids. Do I cause people around me to be sterile into their 30’s? Or did I naturally select to stay in touch with friends that shy away from pregnancy?

Funny, even though we are in our 30s, one of my friends pointed out that half of the photos in her FB photostream are babies, and the other half are people partying. It’s a pretty interesting split.
