PDF is Unfit for Human Consumption
It is easy to make a pdf, but not to read it. Emailing a pdf is fine if you know the other side will need to print. But pdf’s on the web are a lot of trouble. The success of easy online publishing will be the death of pdf’s. It is currently doing well for forms used in business workspaces, but microsoft is entering the arena with Microsoft Infopath, formarly XDocs. Lets see how that war turns out. A print version link is required for all articles on the web. I’m planning to weed out all the pdf’s from my site, which are there in the first place because I didn’t have a blog when I made them. I had a simple site and was too much pain to design the layout of each article.
