“I have an unconventional way of working. I can stay in bed and dream for days. That’s my path into a character.” –Israeli Actress Ronit Elkabetz

    Oh, artists.

She is really striking, and if she really prepares for acting roles by napping and this process has rewarded her with FAME then she is my new hero.

me too! i once read an interview with gena rowlands and she said she did the same thing, she’d “dream in the character” for days to prepare for the role. and i’m no great artist but i have to say that all of my writing gets done while daydreaming in bed. my bed is my most cherished writer’s tool.

Gena Rowlands is so brilliant, it must work! I think since we are usually relaxed when we are in bed and sleeping that we allow our minds to open up more. Now if only I could remember more of my dreams! I woke up last night and realized I had been dreaming something unpleasant, but for the life of me I could not remember what it was.
