Wandiri Karimi

 

Wandiri Karimi is the Director of the Kenya Conservatoire of Music, the foremost music education institution in the region. She is committed to promoting knowledge of Intellectual property law and the development of robust policies for the creative arts as an integral part of the African Economy as a whole.

She has led and been part of teams working within the creative sector bringing legal insight in projects in music, TV and film. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi and a Masters degree in Intellectual Property from the University of South Africa. She is also the Lead Intellectual Property Law Consultant at Kairu & McCourt Advocates.

Wandiri was in February 2018 appointed to the Competent Authority (Copyright Appeals Tribunal) by the Attorney General of Kenya for a period of three years.
