The New York Times says Fake Steve Jobs is really Dan Lyons, a writer for Forbes. Remember Attack of the Blogs, from a Forbes in Fall of 2005? That was Dan’s. He interviewed me for that piece, which was quite controversial at the time. I had been warned that Dan was out to “get” me in some way, but that didn’t happen and my interactions with him have all been friendly. He also has a sense of humor. From his latest:
One bright side is that at least I was busted by the Times and not Valleywag. I really, really enjoyed seeing those guys keep guessing wrong. For six months Dr. Evil and Mr. Bigglesworth put their big brains together and couldn’t come up with the answer. Guy from the Times did it in a week.
As teapot tempests go, quite entertaining.
