Since 1996, Dwight McInvaill has served as the Director of the Georgetown County Library, a public library system in rural South Carolina. Before coming to the Georgetown County Library, McInvaill served as a reference librarian in North Carolina. McInvaill is on the board of the Association of Rural and Small Libraries. He previously chaired the Rural Libraries Committee of the Public Library Association and the American Library Association’s Taskforce on Rural School, Tribal, and Public Libraries. In 2009, McInvaill was one of 10 librarians honored with an “I Love My Librarian Award” from the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the New York Times.”

Martha Rudolph reveals plans to digitize historical Tennessee Newspapers.
“The Tennessee Digital Newspaper Project (TDNP) is a joint effort between the University of Tennessee and the Tennessee State Library and Archives (TSLA), funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), to digitize more than 100,000 pages of Tennessee’s microfilmed newspapers dating from 1836 to 1922. The NEH has funded similar projects in other states as it builds the national database.”
