Eric Engle, a guest at Harvard Law School this year, will give a presentation on positivism verses natural law this Wednesday, February 25, at 7:15 PM in Hauser 101. His paper, titled Positivism and Normative Inference: Two Key Legal Problems of Late Modernity is available online at SSRN.

Martha Minow mentioned that she would be able to talk later this semester, possibly in April. In the meantime, we decided to ask Chris Desan, Mark Tushnet, and Joe Singer about giving talks.

We’ll have our first meeting of the semester this Thursday, February 19 at 7, in Hauser 101.  We’ll discuss Duncan Kennedy’s “Form and Substance in Private Law Adjudication,” 89 Harv. L. Rev. 1685 (1976), which can be found in the Fisher and Kennedy volume or at Duncan’s Website.

We can also chat briefly about finding some professors or students who wish to give talks this semester.
