As if Solar needed another roadblock to success

Semiconductor manufacturers are able to outbid solar companies for the
available silicon because the material makes up a much smaller portion of
their production costs, Homan said. “We are getting into a pricing war”
between industries, Homan said.

“The solar industry has been living off the scraps of the computer industry.
This is not a recipe for success,” said Ron Pernick

Ouch… well hopefully the solar industry can get on the right tracks.

    Well, then the recent development of a PV cell that uses titanium foil instead of silicon is an even bigger idea than I initially thought. That still sucks though. ( http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/03/28/2320211&tid=126&tid=14 )
