Architecture for Contemporary Muslim Societies; Islamic Hip hop and Punk Rock

In this week I focused on manifestations of “Islam” in politics and structured a piece of artwork, a collage, around the idea of a social critique of some of the leaders in the Muslim World. I chose to have a myriad of leaders such as Gaddafi, Egyptians Mohomed Morsi, Mubarak, and Adbel Fattah El-Sisi, the Shah and Ayatolah of Iran, and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, Asif Ali Zardari, Talaat Pasha, Bashar Al-Assad, and Hussein to name some in juxtaposition with the wave of new more liberal and free leaders. Two of these such leaders that I am optimistic are bringing in a new era of goverment and reform are Joko Widodo the recently elected Indonesian president and King Mohammed the 6th of Morocco.
