Ah Hah! Republican Guru Admits This Debt Ceiling Debacle is To Harm the Economy So As to Hurt Obama

Ah hah. The truth comes out.

As we discussed yesterday, the Republicans in Congress are looking to Tea Party Wacko (TPW) Erick Erickson of Redstate for permission on how to vote on the debt ceiling.

Today Erickson stated:

“And we will lose our credit rating. The loss of our credit rating will be more economically devastating that a technical default. The GOP will get blamed for it, but hey! at least the economy will stay in the tank next year in to hurt Obama.”

Erickson and his troop of Tea Party Wackos are more interested in destroying Obama  than in fixing our economic mess.

Republicans don’t care if this new crisis causes you to lose your job, your house, your investments, etc.  They are willing to gamble your future survival thinking a worse economy will only improve their chances for winning in 2012.

I can only hope that reasonable Americans will see who is to blame for the economic crisis that will surely follow.

Obama is trying to save the country.  The Republicans are trying to stop him from succeeding at any cost.

Republicans in Congress Are Turning to a Complete Idiot for Advice and Absolution

In a blog posted on his Redstate blog today, Erick Erickson noted that he had been getting calls from Republican Congressmen all morning asking him what they should do about the Debt Ceiling issue.  Erickson even mentions that several of them were calling him looking for “absolution”.

Well, this explains why the Republicans in Congress are completely useless.  They are relying on a wacko like Erick Erickson to tell them how to vote.  Why are voters electing people to Congress if those people cannot make their own decisions based on deliberate and conscientious consideration of the issues.

To better evaluate this ‘guru’ of the Republican party, here are a few choice words to consider — they come directly  from Erick Erickson:

“At what point do the people tell the politicians to go to hell? At what point do they get off the couch, march down to their state legislator’s house, pull him outside, and beat him to a bloody pulp..  “(Erick Erickson, 3/31/2009)

“I did not realize the Nobel Peace Prize had an affirmative action quota for it, but that is the only thing I can think of for this news. There is no way Barack Obama earned it in the nominations period.” (Erick Erickson, 10/09/2009)

“Today, thousands will pour into Washington to tell Nancy Pelosi and the Congress to send Obama to a death panel (that’s section 1233 of the original legislation). If you need details on where to go in D.C. or if you can’t go, but want to show up at your Congresscritter’s local office, go here.  And Americans owe a huge thank you to Michele Bachmann for sounding the call to action.”  (Erick Erickson, 11/05/2009)

“The nation loses the only goat fucking child molester to ever serve on the Supreme Court in David Souter’s retirement.” (Erick Erickson, 04/20/09)

This guy is clearly a seriously disturbed individual. Yet he is apparently the guiding light in the Republican Party these days.

Scary.

If We Cannot Pay Our Debts, How Can We Afford To Pay Congressional Salaries?

Republicans in contend that government is too big and must be slashed until it is “small enough to drown in a bathtub“.  Since those same Republicans cannot seem to say yes to any budget proposed by the President, perhaps the first cut in the federal budget should be their salaries.  After all, these are the people who are telling us that we must make sacrifices.

We need leadership, not brinksmanship.  This is a very dangerous game of chicken that the Republicans are playing with our economy.

Apparently the “tea party” has the Republicans in Congress afraid to agree with Obama on anything or any aspect of anything he proposes.   They threaten to oust them in a primary if they vote yes.

Congress has gotten beyond being dysfunctional.  What they are doing now is nothing short of malfeasance.
