Tennyson/Ted Kennedy’s famous speech
“Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and tho’/
We are not now that strength which in old days/
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;/
One equal temper of heroic hearts,/
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will/
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”

Wow. I was looking for this very verse, after watching a PBS special on the Kennedy’s. I also stumbled on http://www.americanrhetoric.com, where I found this from RFK’s eulogy:
“For the fortunate among us, there is the
temptation to follow the easy and familiar
paths of personal ambition and financial
success so grandly spread before those who
enjoy the privilege of education. But that is
not the road history has marked out for us.
Like it or not, we live in times of danger
and uncertainty. But they are also more open
to the creative energy of men than any other
time in history. All of us will ultimately be
judged, and as the years pass we will surely
judge ourselves on the effort we have
contributed to building a new world society
and the extent to which our ideals and goals
have shaped that event.”
Great words…

That’s interesting… This has always been one of my favourite poems – in fact, I just ended one of my own blog entries with it – but I didn’t know the quote had been used by Ted Kennedy.
The funny thing is, I opened the same blog entry with the old chinese curse – the one about living in “interesting times” – a quote used Robert F Kennedy… Amazing!
BTW, I found your site through technorati (www.technorati.com) – searching for “tennyson ulysses”

I do believe that a property foreclosures can have a significant effect on the applicant’s life. Home foreclosures can have a 7 to ten years negative impact on a client’s credit report. A new borrower who has applied for a home loan or virtually any loans even, knows that the particular worse credit rating is definitely, the more hard it is to get a decent mortgage loan. In addition, it might affect a borrower’s capability to find a quality place to lease or hire, if that turns into the alternative homes solution. Thanks for your blog post.
