Welcome!

ø

Welcome one and all to Open Access 101! I hope that this blog will be a helpful resource for people who are wondering what open access is and why it’s an important issue for students, faculty, university administration, scholars, and all other creators and consumers of knowledge. The main focus of the site for now will be open access in terms of publishing, but there will be information pertaining to openness in class rooms and course materials as well.

The pages at the top right contain information about the open access movement and reasons why YOU should be interested in it, whomever YOU happen to be. If you feel like your concerns are not addressed, please email me at kxu AT fas DOT harvard DOT edu.

This blog will document the activities of the open access movement at Harvard leading up to the Internet and Society Conference about openness in Spring 2007. Here’s to an open Harvard and a better world!
