Short Biography
I am currently a 4th-year medical student at Barts & The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. I recently completed a PhD degree in Oncology from the University of Cambridge, funded by Cancer Research UK, under the supervision of John R. Griffiths at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, and working closely with Adrian L. Harris at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford. During my PhD research, I employed novel magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging techniques to measure the pH in experimental models of human cancers. Alongside my PhD research, I maintained active clinical training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital as a visiting clinical medical student in the Cambridge MB/PhD programme.
Prior to my doctoral research, I completed my pre-clinical medical training at the University of Cambridge (Christ’s College), obtaining a B.A. degree in Natural Sciences (Pharmacology). During my pre-clinical medical training, I conducted research in bio-engineering as a UROP student at Imperial College London’s Department of Bioengineering, working with Colin G. Caro on the fluid mechanics of the cardiovascular system and atherosclerosis. In the following year, I undertook a further period of research training in cell and molecular biology in the laboratory of George L. King at Harvard Medical School’s Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, Massachusetts, studying the vascular complications of diabetes.
