Crowning of the Rev. Moon as King of Peace by our National Reps… and Disney not letting Miramax release Moore’s new con-Bush film. I wonder if they have enough stake in the IP of the movie to keep it from release for six months!

I’m waiting for the librarians to intervene on Michael Moore’s behalf again …
Comment by j 05.12.04 @ 2:31 pmMoore seems to have been vindicated by the court of the movie-buying public. Huge queues in SF and NY last weekend were to be expected — but I have reports of the same in Richmond, VA. Gosh.
I was pleased that Moore has taken greater care with the facts and logical consistency than he did in BfC. Certainly there are nits one could pick, but I also give him credit for the excellent use of an Eric Clapton riff (from “Cocaine”) while showing Bush’s mysterious avoidance of a medical exam on his military record. Classic.
Comment by Patricia 06.30.04 @ 12:52 pmOoh, I didn’t catch that. How delightful… it was good filmmaking, good storytelling, and almost-palatable documentary. I happened to see Capturing the Friedmans right afterwards, and was reminded that truly great documentary can also be good story-telling.
As an aside, I doubt they were really surprised at their R rating, considering the profanity and graphic images of the dead and wounded…
