You Are the Sunshine of My Life
It seems that over the past few weeks, we’ve had either rain, snow, freezing rain, or cloud cover every single day. But despite the freezing temperatures yesterday, something happened that put the biggest smile on my face.
I left work at my normal time to discover that it was still light out! The cloud cover of the past few weeks had hidden the fact that the sun is setting later and later. And since my work day ends at 4:45, I was able to walk to the train station with some remaining day light! And then this morning, despite a temperature of 1 degree, I woke up to find that it wasn’t pitch black outside (it was still dark – but you could see that dawn was taking place).
YAY! It makes these temperatures just that much more bearable.
And speaking of bears (bearable=bear…get it?). Matt and I know somebody who died last year of a heart attack at 48 years old (he was discovered on the floor of his house one evening when a group of friends arrived for their weekly “Survivor” tv-show viewing). Anyway, Matt forwarded me a link to the Yahoo Personals ad that he had placed before he died. The creepy thing is that a) Yahoo keep sending a profile of a dead man to Matt as a potential mate, and b) it says that his account has been active within the past 3 months (even though he died nearly a year ago).
I guess it’s also creepy that Yahoo seems to think that Matt’s attracted to bears – when, in fact, that would be me.

Bears have always held an attraction for me as well. I have a thing for slightly older men with all the hair nature gave them. Of course, it can’t involve cigars or bad hygiene and it must include a lot of cuddling. So, I guess that means I’m really attracted to Pandas.
Is the Panda even a recognized gay male type? Fritz certainly fits the description to a T. This could get as confusing as the handkerchief code.

I noticed the extra daylight on the drive home last night – it wasn’t dark until I was well on my way out the Pike! Even this morning it was brighter than it has been.
Now I know why everyone wanted the picture of the beard I’ve got!

Well, it was windy, which made the ride a little tiring – 100 miles in strong headwinds is not the most relaxing ride there is.
If nothing else you need to GET OUT OF TOWN. I always found that was the key to surviving northeastern winters. Though February was usually when I felt so desparate I had to escape.
Why is no one focusing on the fact that our friend who passed away is accessing his personal date profile account and it keeps getting forwarded to me!?!!??! That is just soooooo creepy. …and sad, if this were to happen to a few people who were very close to such a sweet man. I notified Yahoo, but I think that they suspect I am a prankster because I could not provide his address, phone and date of death.
Karl — weren’t you meaning that you are more attracted to bears than me? You don’t think you’re a bear, do you? You are a stick. You need to eat a sandwich!
And, actually, I find some bears attractive. Am not really hung up on body types or age. However, I seem to be attractive to a lot of guys under 25 — and I think that is too young. They are still babies. They just don’t realize it, yet!
Oh, interseting how my wording could imply that I’m a bear…when I was trying to say that I am the one attracted to bears.
